How does Healthy Young Minds work?

HYM offers pediatric mental and behavioral health care through teletherapy. Our model can provide care regardless of your location, and we offer a broad network of providers. Our platform is engaging and accessible, outcome-driven and easy to use. Here’s how it works:

  1. Parents are either referred to us or engage with us on their own.
  2. Parents sign-up using our website and will be contacted by our front office to schedule an evaluation.
  3. We match your child’s needs to multiple providers based on their expertise and your stated preferences. SO, the matching of Childs specific needs to an expert with a proven track record of serving those needs will provide more effective and efficient care.
  4. Your child gets on their way to a healthier young mind and to achieving their greatest self.

Who is Healthy Young Minds for?

We help kids and their families. We recognize that every child is unique, with their own strengths and challenges, and that you can’t treat a child without supporting the family. Our network of highly-trained providers acts as an ecosystem for a total collaborative care experience -- providing support in mental and behavioral health, speech and language, occupational and art therapy, psychological testing, and psychological counseling. We create an individualized care plan for each client based on evidence-based treatments, and provide comprehensive care that can address multi-faceted and overlapping diagnoses.

How much does it cost?

HYM is currently enrolled with Colorado, Florida and Texas State Medicaid programs and is actively enrolling in all MCO's within those states. We are working towards accepting all State Medicaid Programs as well as private insurance companies. We work with our families to help get coverage for the services we provide.

All services may not be available in all areas subject to limited capacity and other regulatory requirements.

Can we use insurance and/or Medicaid?

Yes. Whether your child is covered under Medicaid or your private insurance, we will work with you to obtain the services your child needs and to facilitate insurance coverage. Please note that we currently only accept Colorado Medicaid, but are busy working to expand Medicaid coverage through other states across the country. For all other states, families will pay out of pocket and be given a Superbill to submit to their private/commercial insurance company for reimbursements based on their plan.

Can we pay out of pocket?

Yes. With our telehealth model, we can offer care regardless of your location. We strongly believe that children deserve access to quality mental and behavioral health care interventions and will assist you by matching you with the most experienced provider licensed in your state and by providing a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Can HYM substitute for traditional in-person therapy? How can I be sure teletherapy is an effective form of counseling?

Research shows that teletherapy is as effective as traditional in-person therapy sessions.  Specifically, research shows that telehealth and in-person therapy had similar improvement in 5 of 6 outcome measures, and the level of improvement made with telehealth matched or exceeded progress reported for onsite speech therapy.

Our teletherapy is also highly engaging, with creative interactive sessions personalized to your child’s interest. Because teletherapy is delivered in-home, it’s more accessible and addresses challenges in the environment in which they occur. Parents work closely with therapists to build trackable goals that are carefully monitored and adjusted to address your child’s changing needs.

How can I ensure my child is making progress?

We are dedicated to ensuring that each child has an improved and supported life through integrated teletherapy. Although every child’s progress can vary, we built in mechanisms to ensure that your child meets their personal goals and milestones. Parents and therapists work together to build trackable goals that are important to you and your child. We meticulously monitor goals and utilize data to track progress and make adjustments along the way to address your child’s changing needs. We pride ourselves on applying deeply engaging, evidence-based and data-driven interventions.

We believe in-home teletherapy is the best option for lots of children, especially those who live in rural areas or those who have trouble leaving the house. This allows us to observe, track and treat behavior in the places that kids spend the most time.

What if I’m not happy with my child’s therapist?

We understand how important it is for both you and your child to feel comfortable and satisfied with your child’s therapist. That’s why we give you options. We match your child with several different therapists based on needs and preferences. If, at any time, you want or need to request a new therapist, we will work with you to find the perfect fit for your child based on your feedback. Our therapists are accountable for progress and outcomes and work with parents to create plans that can easily pivot to meet a child’s changing needs. In some cases, we may together determine that your child no longer requires ongoing support or requires the expertise of a different therapist or practice area.

How is my privacy protected?

Your safety and privacy are of utmost importance. HYM abides by HIPAA compliance practices and adheres to the highest principles of data security and privacy management, respecting every user’s right for the safety, control and ownership of their personal data.

Our core principles include transparency of data usage, ensuring that data is only used in a lawful manner that provides a clear benefit to our users. We believe that privacy should be owned by you, so we give complete control over when, how or if your data is used or removed from our service.

We are always seeking providers to join our growing team of highly skilled, passionate experts and specialists. To join HYM, please click ‘Careers’ on our home page and then ‘Apply’.

What’s the advantage to providers to join our network?

HYM welcomes inquiries from all providers and offers a unique model where you can create your own customized schedule by choosing the days and the hours you want to work. Providers also determine the type of caseloads they take on. We do not have minimum hour requirements but do set a maximum based on discipline. We offer mentor/mentee opportunities, monthly paid cross discipline team meetings, and have built a community where providers are supported and encouraged to share their experiences.

We provide value-based pediatric telehealthcare with a focus on early intervention. Our services support young minds facing mental health and behavioral challenges, cognitive, language and occupational deficits. We are a highly ethical, patient/family focused clinic.

To become a HYM provider, please submit a resume and cover letter. If you’re a good fit, we will ask you to onboard and fill out a detailed questionnaire detailing your education level and degree, years in practice, areas of expertise in your specific discipline, license (if applicable), and state(s) where you are licensed. We also ask for your feedback on preferred case types and the specific hours and days you are available.
